It was definitely something we needed to mend.
And her thinking I had changed was the motivation.
For a few days she gave me the cold shoulder,
While I was sinking lower and lower.
At the end of the week I was finally done,
And decided to text her about what we had become.
She responded as if nothing were wrong,
So I poured my heart out in a message that was so long.
She said she was sorry for everything that went on,
And I, too, apologized and wanted to move on.
Losing your best friend feels like the end of the world,
But it's not once your problems become unfurled.
My friend and I finally fixed things,
And we tied up all the loose strings.
We promised each other we would never fight,
And always look towards the positive light.

I really liked how everything perfectly rhymed! I am glad that you and your best friends aren't made at each other anymore and are friends again! My favorite part was the last two line: "We promised each other we would never fight, and always look towards the positive light."
ReplyDeleteIf I haven't been through this at least a million times, i'd be surprised, so I can understand the situation. Good thing it was resolved. Nice poem.
