Where softball begins and we all cheer!

Even though I believe the season is way too short.
I always enjoy the feeling and motion of pitching,
And I do it so much that I find my arm twitching.
When senior year began I was excited
That the thought of making varsity ignited.
My only problem was my job at latchkey,
Because I did not want to leave the kids like forgotten debris.
February finally rolled around where I had to choose,
To keep working or to play softball and fill new shoes.
I had to keep in mind how the kids would react,

After many months of debating whether to play or not,
I finally came to a conclusion that can no longer be fought:
I will not be playing softball this year,
Which was my dad's fear.
Even though I will miss pitching a lot,
It will not be the end of my softball thoughts.
I work at latchkey too and I know what you mean by how everything you do you have to think about work. I wasn't able to join some clubs because it interfered with my work schedule.
ReplyDeleteThat stinks you weren't able to play softball because you're probably a really good pitcher, but at this point a lot of people our age have to choose work over sports. The kids at latchkey are so lucky to have you!
